There are good numbers of brown trout in close to our lake edges, feeding mainly on bullies. Hamills Killers and Mrs Simpsons are working well, along with Monsums bullies, and my own olive/brown rabbit fly patterns.
Even when the weather is not ideal, we are stil seeing good numbers, but alot of the time it is too late as they are right under our feet when sighted. However, with right attitude (code in this case for a stubborn refusal to quit!) we are still having plenty of action. Below are Liz and Travis from WA with a nice winter brownie, which was the first fish landed after several frustrating hook ups.
We also had an audience of cows!!
Over the next couple of days the weather is a bit rough, but then it comes right, so we are expecting a day like below when we fish on Thursday. Fingers crossed!!
